What does a solar cell panel consist of?

  1. Solar Cells

The most crucial component, responsible for converting sunlight into electricity.Solar cells are typically made of silicon, which comes in two main types:

    - Monocrystalline Silicon: High efficiency and long lifespan.

    - Polycrystalline Silicon: Lower cost but slightly less efficient.

  2. Front Glass

    - Protects solar cells from impact, dust, and water.

    - Made of tempered glass, which is durable and resistant to weather changes.

  3. EVA Layer (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate)

    - A transparent layer that bonds solar cells to the front glass and backsheet.

    - Helps prevent moisture and extends the lifespan of the solar cells.

  4. Backsheet

    - Protects the solar cells from damage caused by moisture and UV radiation.

    - Commonly made of durable materials like TPT or PVF.

  5. Frame

    - Made of aluminum, corrosion-resistant.

    - Adds strength and stability to the panel.

  6. Junction Box

    - The connection point for electrical wiring.

    - Contains bypass diodes to prevent reverse current.

  7. Cables and Connectors

    - Used to connect the solar panel to the electrical system.

    - MC4 connectors are commonly used for secure and waterproof connections.

  8. Anti-reflective Coating

    - A surface coating that reduces light reflection and increases light absorption.

These components work together to ensure the solar cell efficiently generates electricity, remains durable, and operates reliably over time.
